Handset in Bernhard Modern Roman booklet and Modern Condensed Italic with New Times Roman for the illustration titles. Letterpress printed in four colors, with gilt on a vintage Chandler & Price pilot handpress using frost white Simpson Gainsborough Script paper. Unique binding in tan leather by Habib Dingle, with an intricately tooled inlaid design of a griffin in three different colors on both the front and back boards. Four metal studs on front and back covers. Doublures of wood patterned paper and free endpapers of tan leather. All edges gilt. Book fits into a curved olive wood holder with leather trim where book is held. Black cloth box lined with black velvet with separate matching lid; brown leather title label on lid. In an edition of 126 copies this is number 23 in a unique binding signed by Don Hildreth. Unique designer binding. The 14th book of the . Habib Dingle is a well-known binder, who won first prize in a Designer Bookbinders competition in 1989. His bindings can be found worldwide in many collections, including the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
