Unique simplified binding, sewn on tapes, by Jill Oriane Tarlau in colored patterned leather with overall gold design; onlay of U.S.A. flag in red, white and blue snakeskin, title in gilt on flag. Bound in 1996 and stamped ‘Oriane’ at bottom of front inside cover. Chemise of matching patterned leather, blue and white marbled paper and blue leather trim, lined with pale blue suede. Slipcase of blue and white marbled paper with blue leather trim. Fine.
This little book extols the help and friendship of the American people to the French during World War I at which time it was probably printed. Charming pochoir illustrations.
