(Davidson, Laura) Tender Buttons, tenderly pays homage to Gertrude Stein’s 1914 writing called ‘Tender Buttons’. Artist’s book by Laura Davidson. 2007. Book – 1.75″ in diameter. Box – 2″ x 2″. Pages are typewritten and drawn on with colored inks and washes; each circle is cut by hand into 1/75″ circles. Bound together with a single length of pink cord, which folds back and forth to fit in a small brass box. The box has assorted colored buttons sewn onto the lid. Inside lined with text and colophon. No. 15 of 24 copies, signed by Laura Davidson. Fine.
A homage to Gertrude Stein.
