Peter Malutzki — Skizzen auf Tränenpapier
(Peter Malutzki) Skizzen auf Tränenpapier. Text by Erwin Einzinger. FlugBlatt-Presse. Lahnstein. 1990. n.p. 11.25” x 7.5”. Illustrated, designed and printed by Peter Malutzki. Handset and letterpress (both lines and text) printed into a net of crossing dotted lines and added original collages of different found materials: magazine pictures, maps, genuine gold leaf, etc. The thin paper of the booklet is made of found material itself, (because in Spain they used it in bakeries to wrap bread) and gives the booklet, because of its transparency, a certain depth and reinforces the crossing of lines, typography, and collages. Thin card wrappers with black title, lines and color collages. Thin natural card slipcase with paper title label. One in an edition of 42 numbered copies, signed by Erwin Einzinger and Peter Malutzki. Fine.
The texts by the Austrian writer Einzinger are very short stories dealing with themes of everyday life, the relations between men’s life and nature. The use of these materials develops the theme of real things and their images (for example: there is a piece of real fabric and a part of a picture of certain cloth from a magazine).
