Unique binding by Don Rash done in 2010; with his stamp and date on the rear pastedown. Sewn on four flat cords with gray leather joints and Twinrocker handmade paper endsheets. Top edge painted with acrylics. Red-orange embroidered silk endbands. Bound in full gray Harmatan goatskin with urn-shaped insets of puckered terra cotta Harmatan goatskin over simplified skeletal imagery. Spine titling in palladium leaf, boards and board edges tooled in blind utilizing tools cut by the binder. Laid in a black dropback box lined with gray suede; terra cotta leather spine with title in palladium leaf. Fine.
This edition of the ‘Hydriotaphia’ reproduces the text of the first edition printed in 1658.
